Colour brings life to a product. It can be used in a functional way: to enhance the shape, to draw the attention to a specific detail or to make the product relevant in a specific context. But it can also be used in a more emotional way, to evoke a deeper response in us. We humans react very instinctively and emotionally to colours, and for me it is a tool to reach different individuals in a personal way. 

Everything around us is made of something, and our relationship to materiality is more important than ever. We are becoming more aware of the ecological bounderies of our planet, and it is our responsibility as designers to carefully select the best material for its purpose. The choice of material in a product is influencing the full experience, going beyond the purely functional. 

The finish of a surface is something we read through both our eyes and through our sense of touch. It is an element that is often forgotten about, but it is crucial to our experience of a product. I often use textures in a way to bring out the best of each material. I believe that the importance of tactile experiences is increasing as our lives are becoming more digital.
